We Hopfgartner's love to spoil our guests! With great joy, heart-fresh hospitality and a lot of passion, we take care of your light-hearted holiday in Val Pusteria, South Tyrol. Each member helps diligently: grandma prepares the delicious breakfast every morning, grandpa assists wherever needed and Helga & Gerald fulfil every guest's wish. Jana and Lisa, our twins, are about to finish school this year and plan to pursue their own interests and studies in the near future.

You are welcome to book a rich and vital breakfast (€ 13.00/person) for the evening dinner menu  (€ 23.00/person). The breakfast for children up to 4 years is free! The price for children from 4 to 12 years is € 8,00 and for the evening menu € 15,00. On request we also provide you fresh bread and milk in your apartment.

Up to 15 days before arrival you can cancel your reservation free of charge. If a deposit refund is requested, we charge a service fee of 25,00 €.
· In case of cancellation from 15 days to 5 days before arrival we charge you 50% of the agreed daily price.
· In case of cancellation from 5 days to arrival, in case of no-show, late arrival or early departure, we charge the total agreed price.

If,contrary to expectations, the borders to italy are closed or if there is a travel warning for South Tyrol that prevents arrival, the booking can be caceled free of charge 3 days bevore arrival.

On the day of arrival your apartments will be available from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. In case of a delay in your arrival, please inform us by phone.
On the day of departure, we ask you to leave your room by 10 a.m.
A late check-out is possible by prior agreement and for a surcharge of 20,00 €. In case of early departure, we charge the full room rate.

The final cleaning of the apartments and suites is not included in the price.
Intermediate cleaning of the suites & apartments on request:
· Apartement or suite with 1 bedroom: a one-off 15,00€, daily cleaning 12,00 € per day
· Apartement or suite with 2 bedrooms: a one-off 20,00 €, daily cleaning 16,00 € per day
· Apartement with 3 bedrooms: a one-off 30,00€, daily cleaning 20,00 € per day
For a stay of more than 7 days, the flat will be cleaned once free of charge (except for the kitchenette), including a change of linen.

For each reservation we ask for a deposit of 30% of the agreed total price, payable at the time of booking by bank transfer. We also accept your credit card details to guarantee your booking.

You can park your car and your motorcycles free of charge in our parking area. A parking space in the garage costs 5,00€ per day.

According to Italian law, smoking is forbidden in our hotel and therefore also in our rooms. You can smoke in our smokers’ area on our terrace and in our garden.

We attach great importance to preserving our beautiful nature. Our pure drinking water springs in the heart of South Tyrol's magnificent mountains. The Winkler is heated exclusively with wood chip fuel from our local forest. In addition, we produce our own electricity with the help of solar energy and photovoltaic systems. We are committed to protect our environment and pay great attention to carefully differentiate waste and provide you with waste bins on every floor.

The tourist tax amounts to 3,00 € per person and night and has to be paid directly on site. Children up to the age of 14 years are exempt from the tourist tax.

We believe that the most wonderful way to experience the South Tyrolean mountains, alpine pastures and valleys is while hiking! There is just the right trail for every type of hiker. Pleasant trails through dense forests, scenic routes with panoramic sights, summit trips and fixed rope routes “via ferratas”  or professional and family friendly excursions. In our surroundings, in the rural Valle di Tures with its three-thousand metre peaks, in the Ladin- speaking area of Alta Badia, admits the imposing Dolomite peaks and in the picturesque Valle Anterselva - a multifaceted network with diverse hikes and exciting climbing routes is just waiting for you! No less than three unique Nature Parks  with diverse flora and fauna cast a spell over nature lovers in the Kronplatz holiday region.

Cycling brings happiness! We South Tyroleans love to discover alpine pastures by bike. There are plenty of bike tours around the Winkler! Right on our doorstep you can set off and enjoy the feeling of freedom! The Pustertal valley bicycle route  is one of the most beautiful in the country. It leads along the river Rienza, from Fortezza to Lienz (A), passing forests and meadows. Children enjoy cycling along the route, as there are many exciting attractions to discover. The Val Pusteria is a true Eldorado for mountain bikers. Whether uphill or downhill, through forest paths and flowing single trails the nearby localities Valle di Tures, Valle Anterselva, Val Casies Valley and Plan de Corones guarantee lots of mountain bike fun!

An insider tip for all golf enthusiasts… embedded in the beautiful landscape of South Tyrol and surrounded by the breath-taking mountain scenery, playing golf becomes a wonderful nature experience. At the foot of Plan de Corones, more precisely in Riscone, you’ll experience a 9-holes golfing experience of a special kind. It is considered the number one skiing mountain in South Tyrol, belongs to the world's largest ski carousel Dolomiti Superski  and is only seven kilometres from the Winkler... ski enthusiasts already know the answer! Yes, we are talking about the famous Kronplatz-Plan de Corones! 
With 116 kilometres of slopes and 32 modern cable cars, it offers beginners, casual, professional skiers and freestylers everything their heart desires. From the adrenaline-pumping "Black Five", to the adventurous snow park and the thrilling slalom – pure winter enjoyment is guaranteed! 
Newcomers who want to improve their technique can choose from a wide range of courses offered by the six ski schools of Plan de Corones. Numerous rentals provide the best equipment on site. Well then…off to the slopes!

Ski touring & snowshoeing

You can' t wait to experience winter away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes? Then an exciting ski tour or a pleasant snowshoe hike through the quiet winter wilderness is just the right activity for you! The snow-covered Val Pusteria enchants with ski tours and snowshoe hikes of all difficulty levels. The Val Casies Valley awaits you with an impressive mountain panorama, the Valle Aurina offers numerous challenging three-thousand-metre peaks, while alpine sports enthusiasts cannot miss the high-altitude tours in the Valle Anterselva. Those who are eager to combine touring with skiing on the Kronplatz slopes can hike via the AVS trail through the fairytale winter forest and then ski back down to Riscione.

Cross-country skiing

Passionate cross-country skiers are well served in the Kronplatz holiday region! Skaters or classic cross-country skiers, beginners or professionals, on a linear slope or at higher altitude - all cross-country skiers will remain breathless! All trails are part of Europe's largest cross-country skiing carousel Dolomiti NordicSki  which features over 300 fantastic kilometres of trails.
Our tips: The snow-reliable slopes at Passo delle Erbe are a real sporting challenge that reward with a fantastic panorama over Sasso Putia. The wild and romantic Val Casies fascinates every cross-country skier with its wide, perfectly groomed loipes and rustic mountain huts. And of course, a well-deserved trip to the beautiful track in the biathlon mecca of Anterselva cannot be missed!

Tobogganing

As the first white flakes fall, the magical landscape around the Winkler turns into a fairytale spectacle, providing lots of tobogganing fun. Trudging upward, hopping on the toboggan and off you go on a speedy ride! Numerous alpine huts invite you to linger and spoil yourself with delicious South Tyrolean treats. 
South Tyroleans have a romantic vein and enjoy tobogganing at full moon, as the moon lends a magical atmosphere. A real highlight for the whole family!

We modified our logo a little bit, too. When we thought of the colour, we agreed right away that it had to stay dark red, it simply belongs to the Winkler. We decided on a check and a heart design. The check symbolises pleasure, fun and joy. The heart stands for love, but also embodies cheerfulness, naturalness, empathy, transmission of values and friendship as well as kindness.

You may have wondered what will be new. We can assure you that it will be quite a lot! When you enter the Winkler, you will immediately notice the first change... the entrance area and the reception appear in a completely new look. You can also expect three new, modern Alpine Panorama Suites for up to four people and a spacious Family Alpine Panorama Suite up to six people. The suites have been lovingly redecorated using natural wood. The large sun terraces, with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the bright windows ensure that the first rays of sunshine warm your face in the morning!  Unique moments of well-being and relaxation await you!

Exploring Falzes and its surroundings!

Directions

From the north/south/west: Leave the Brennero Motorway (A22) at the exit Bressanone and follow the Val Pusteria state road (SS49) to Chienes, turn left and continue on the road (SP40) to the centre of Falzes. After about 4 km turn right into Via Grimaldo, where you will find our hotel on the right-hand side.

From the east: Drive via Lienz (A) to San Candido where you follow the Val Pusteria state road (SS49). Leave at the exit Brunico Ovest and continue on the SP40 towards Falzes. After about 4 km turn right into Via Grimaldo, where you will find our hotel on the right after about 800m.

By train you can reach the Brunico train station. From here many busses take you to Falzes.
